Part two of the 32 mile coastal loop and we roll into Hartlepool β a name that comes from the Anglo-Saxon βHerut eu,β meaning βStag Island.β Fitting, as we passed the stag statue on the way toward the promenade.
From there we cruised past the famous monkey statue, hit the prom for a well-earned ice cream stop, and then⦠things got interesting.
Heading inland, we may (definitely) have tested every possible exit on a roundabout before ending up going up the first one we tried. Tactical exploration. Scientific method. Absolutely intentional.
This ride had sea views, local history, sugar-fuelled decision making, and a masterclass in how not to navigate a roundabout.
Part 3 coming soon.
