Discover why the Netherlands’ Hansa (Hanzesteden) Route is bikepacking on easy mode. Three weeks of flat, separated cycle paths, ferries, windmills, medieval port towns, farm stops, fort camping, and a few chaotic detours. Follow Dan & Tina as Plan A implodes and a beginner-friendly tour unfolds with a slow daily pace, plethora of baked goods and some type-2 fun.
We explore Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Hardewijk, Kampen, Zwolle, Olst, Doesburg, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Lobith, Xanten, Duisburg and Dusseldorf (and then make a final completely unrelated stop in Copenhagen) before we head to Taiwan for the next adventure.

Thanks for watching!
Once while bike riding from France to NL had a liter of french raw milk in my bidon that turned to butter and buttermilk.
There doesn't exist a "Hansa"-route. Maybe you mean Hanzeroute?
As said earlier it is “Hanze” and not “Hansa”. Hanze is an old word for a bond. In this case a trading bond connecting 22 cities in the Netherlands and Germany.
Crazy youtube algorithm hits again. Great video! And hope to see you back in the Netherlands again.
1:43 IJmuiden not ijmuden
8:44 Utrecht not Utretcht
12:52 Guys ??? you mean girls…😉
There is a lot of birdshit over there 😛
3:12 Cycled past my office, what are the chances
Toet toet! Vrachtautochauffeur
Did you just start this channel? No .. it's 5 years old. But it has no subs, yet it has the quality of a 100K channel. I am intrigued…. have a new sub.
at 3:32, if you were on a bike path, you are allowed to act like a local and yell angrily at the pedestrians, it's them that should walk on the road or on the grass…. But if it was a walking path I have said nothing.
The funny thing about our country is, that no matter which foreigner goes on a bike trip , it's impossible for them to pick a route that doesn't have at least a few obscure landmarks that I have been to myself. And I am not even the adventurous type , our country is just that small.
I received my postcard. Put it on the fridge, foot and all
Why are you 2 not cycling next to each other?
The honking trucks likely had kids in them as passengers from a "Make A Wish"-like foundation. Sick or under-privileged kids get to ride along in those trucks for one day a year.
Nice video! For anyone interested there’s also a Trans Nederland Noord Zuid route which is about 600km long and loooaaads of offroad. Actually, most of it is offroad. It’s on the internet someplaces but it’s not the most recent one. And there’s also a new route which isn’t online at all. Ping me if interested. I know the guy who made both routes
These bakery treats and cuatems are making me jelly, this is sahhhh cool <3
it's HanZel and Gretel, not HanSel and Gretel!
That’s interesting you had to walk the bike off the ferry- I wouldn’t have know to do that, either. I’m bicycle riding in Holland in March- good to know. I guess it makes sense. To them. The steel decking can be slippery.
hey there, nice video! I did my first ever 2 tours in the Netherlands last year, heading back again this year and going across to more of Germany this time. Happy trails!
Had me laughing out loud that you had wonderful weather all throughout the Netherlands (knowing some people like to complain that it is raining so much) and the moment you crossed into Germany it began raining 😂
At 19:04 Deventer, my birth town! The bridge appeared in the 1976 movie 'A bridge too far' where it portrayed as the Arnhem bridge.
Anyway, thanks for the video. You have shown me places in my own country I have not been too.
Our birds are sharp when they see cyclist with helmets try to shoot on it ;p
✅Welcome to the Netherlands
Wonderful, that silence
Thousands of kilometers of cycle paths
Great… We'll be following 👍👍
What's with the helmet, lol 😂
19.04 Did you know this is where they filmrd A bridge too far? You just crossed the bridge they used in the movie.
