going to a big resort is gonna be mad expensive, French alps have plenty of very small resorts (some as small as having only 1 lift) that usually have very cheap prices
Terrible overcrowded place, if you like to spend more time waiting for a bus that will not stop at your bus stop it's a place to go. There are no parkings at the resorts btw

Chamonix is one of the more expensive resorts to go to. 71 euros a day is a lot for Europe.

i can go for 17€ at the 7 Laux (small to medium station close to grenoble) or for 50€ at the 2 Alpes… definitly not the cheapest way you chosed.
