Ok, well what about the ones that don’t require modification to go this fast like the Surron brand?

NOT an e-bike. That is an electric dirt bike, or e-moto.
I know this is pedantic, but it matters. Regular pedal assisted e-bikes with a 20mph top speed are being regulated in some places because they are being lumped in with these dirt bikes. Ebikes are a great way for people to get around in an affordable manner. We need to use the right wording so they arent hit with blanket bans caused by these yahoos. Thanks.
Premptive Edit: Yes, it was legal and was modified. That makes it a dirt bike and no longer an ebike. This was an illegal hotrod of a bike.

And people wonder and bitch about the knee jerk reaction laws like NJs. I bet this father thought that thst law was a joke too.
I hope his son recovers. Brain bleeds are not good.

There was no teen in this story, that was a twelve-year-old *child* who’d been riding this thing, ran a red light, crashed into a car and got intercranial bleeding, a broken femur and a broken wrist.
Yeah, this was some seriously irresponsible parenting. Kid could’ve died.
