I am a bit concerned whether or not this conversion will work with all the components I have. I had bought everything thinking I had more of a hook on the rim. Is this conversion still possible?
(I intentionally haven’t removed the blue tape just yet)

not a very good idea. buy tubeless ready wheels
Are there any good quality but affordable recommendations for tubeless wheels? I’m on a tough budget after this buy!
Bontrager(trek) had a plastic, shaped, tubless rim strip that was required for some early carbon wheels. The rim profile was not tubless compatible but the rim strip was stiff and had the tire bead ridge to make it tubless.
Check your internal rim width and see if they have something that works.
They require their specific tubless valves with a flat interface to the rim strip.

Quick intermittent recommendation for OP: get another brand of tubeless sealant… Muck off really is one of the worst I ever used (and my dumbass bought the big bottle back in the day) 😵
The hooks are not the problem. The bed is. It will be difficult to get the tires to flip into place.
