Have a soft budget of $2000, but came across the Neuron 6 for $2200 and fell in love. https://www.canyon.com/en-us/mountain-bikes/trail-bikes/neuron/al/neuron-6/4033.html

I’ve watched a bunch of reviews on it and the 99 Spokes review pretty much sold me on it.

I do light trail riding in Louisville, KY. I might hit an occasional small jump if it’s smooth, but that’s about it. I’ve been riding since 15 years old (35 now) but I don’t ride like I did in my teens since I have a family now and am a sole provider. I am happy with my riding skill level, I just want to be more efficient and ride more since my 10 year old bike is heavy and worn out.

Everyone seems to praise how well it climbs and one review I watched called it a “beefed up XC bike”, which pretty much pretty much describes my riding these day. It has great specs and weighs several pounds less than most in this price range (32.5lb).

Are there any other bikes I should consider in that price range? The Stumpjumper is the closest contender but is not available in this price range in my size.

I’ve been wanting one for a while now also. I’d already have one if I had the spare 2k right now

This comment may be a moot point bc of location as I’m in Austin, but I got a spectral cf9 with carbon wheels, axs etc for 2k on marketplace and the bike is literally brand new. Guy had hip surgery. Completely mint bike- $2k it absolutely shreds

Go with the canyon I work at a bike shop and see all sorts of bikes all day and ride them after tune ups and every canyon that has come through there just rides better feels better is more responsive and overall quality i used to be a specialized guy and lil by lil. They went to shit giant and trek also started making bad bikes I see so many of there rigs coming in for tunes and parts all the time and when u look closely u see bad design cutting corners bad customer service so I would run with that canyon

  4. I picked up a ‘25 Stumpy 15 Comp (S3) for $2.5k (I know a bit over your soft cap) from a local bike shop a couple of weeks ago. Worth calling around to see what is available, since most shops want last year models out asap.
