First bike build. Stumbled across this on facebook marketplace, then found this sub. Had a little bit of hyper-fixation looking for parts for a few months. Really enjoyed the process and learning about how a bike works. Still some minor hiccups like the front derailer, but overall it rides great. Itching for spring is an understatement.

You cleaned that up nicely
I had one of these when they first came out. You’re married to that bullmoose bar unless you find another 21.1mm stem. (meaning it’s not standard)
Also the seatpost is 26.8mm instead of 27.2mm
Everything else is standard though. Sell those gold UKAI rims, they’re worth way more than the bike.
I love all silver parts — what’s that group set?
Those are dope rims
What issues are you having with the front derailleur? Those are perhaps the simplest and most reliable component on a bike? It doesn’t care if it’s bent or broken or twisted. For the most part it’ll just work.
That is absolutely beautiful!
Is that a 1983?
I bought one of these in 1983. It was my first bike shop bike.
GOLD RIMS?! THOSE THINGS HAVE GOLD RIMS?!
Fuck me dud that’s so minty. I love that suntour mech and crankset and those bulmoose are sexy as hell. This bike is sexy.
Cool bike, there’s one for sale on CL in Santa Maria ca, rn.

love it
this is incredible
I got a question! I had a diamondback ridge runner from around 83’ I think. It was a small 17 inch frame but with 180mm cranks stock! What is on this? I was wondering if the length was the philosophy at the time, “TORQUE”
