You can drive in a bus lane outside of the hours of operation but be very careful if you need to cross the solid white line of a bus lane when it’s in operation when you need to turn, most traffic regulation orders will have an exemption allowing you to cross an active bus lane with a solid white line to access a side road or property but if you’re not sure always check out the local councils website.

They deliberately put bus lanes in the most awkward places so it's almost impossible to avoid them
