My entry into the 2026CBBO: Fuji Touring Series III – ratty cruiser style.
Super crusty frame, cleaned, treated rust spots, clear coated, then built up with big swoopy beach cruiser bars, did my best to max out the tire clearance.
total budget 175
wheels 20
frame + fork – 45 (parts listed as 0$ came with frame)
shifters 0
stem 0
seatpost 0
FD 0
cranks 0
pedals 0
tires 35
seat (broken) 5
bars (semi-stripped beach cruiser bars) 6
levers 5
grips (takeoff marin lock-on) 6
rear d (Shimano Crane GS) 10
cassette (11-32 10 spd road cassette discarded from after friends' upgrade) 5
cables and housing 10
chain 3
cantilever brake set w/used pads 20
Got most of the parts from my local colleges coop, which gives away used parts, but i think i gave them a fair price?
The one fatal flaw: breaking the head off the front canti post bolt rushing for the deadline. Then breaking an extractor tip trying to remove the stuck bolt.
rear brake for now, soln tbd?
happy to discuss any ideas for how to get that broken bolt out.

Awesome job! I love old Fuji. My first road bike was a 70’s Fuji that was too small for me that was left at my parents cabin by the previous owner. Got me started after fixing it up and getting it rideable.
Looks great but that saddle angle has my taint aching from afar
Super cool bike.
What is the clip on the downtube called? I’ve seen it once before in American media but I have never seen it in the Netherlands. It looks so practical.
