I just go my new prebleed hydraulic brakes that I got off amazon for my Macfox X1 Ebike. When I tried to put them on I noticed the back brake pad on the left side was scraping my rotor. I tried everything thing I could think of with the tools I had, but after a while I just decided to wait for later. However, I noticed that the brake pads are stuck together now. If there is anyone that could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

Take the pads out and push the pistons back in carefully and evenly with a tyre lever or screwdriver. Don’t force it if you meet a lot of resistance. Then don’t engage them when there isn’t a rotor between the pads again. Use a brake block or spacer when they’re off the bike.

  2. This is what happens if you pull the lever without a rotor or spacer in between the pads.

Try if you can remove them by sliding them out the front. Be careful as you do this as to not brake the pistons located behind the pads.

Once they are out reset the pistons. I use plastic tyre levers to do so.

  3. Take the pads out and push the pistons back in with something soft like a Pedro’s tire lever or a wooden spoon.
