Recently picked up this bike. The carbon fiber seatpost is completely sized in the steel tube. Gave it some good squirts of penetrating oil from the top and from the bottom and tried to wiggle it side to side with no luck. Also gave it some good wacks with a soft hammer. Any recommendations? ATF? Heat? Cold? Would like, if possible, to not destroy the seatpost

Heat will make the diameter of the steel outer expand and will actually shrink the carbon fibre tube, don’t be too heavy handed with the heat though. CF degrades at 200+ degrees Celsius.

has good general knowledge for you problem, and some recent additions for carbon fiber.
I’d recommend *against* all chemical methods described here since the bonding agent may react with them.
Heat on the frame is good idea since steel expands and carbon fiber doesn’t.
