last year sometime my VAAST A/1 got recalled for the frame. this is the frame it was swapped with. LBS did a great job. This frame is nice af! Been a while since I've been on an aluminum frame since I mainly ride steel these days. So I'm super curious to see how it rides!

The funny part is before the recall, I bought another aluminum frame on a whim (Velo Orange Chessie…. it's even this same color lol) on a recommendation. So now I have this, a frame I'm sitting on, and my 3 other bikes …. I need to figure this out and downsize. good problems to have though! May ultimately sell this to put towards the build but who knows.

anyone else ride this frame?

I got mine as part of the recall too. I dig it. I equipped it with the niner bags that bolt on, too, so looking forward to seeing how those hold up

  2. I had the aluminum version and now ride the carbon frame. Both rad bikes and take what ever abuse I throw its way.

Wish it didn’t have so much branding though. I think the word “niner” appears 11 or 12 times on the frame?

  3. Just finished my build with this frame. Went single speed for shits and giggles but eventually I’ll put some gears on it.

im curious, did the 200 credit that Vaast gives shops for the teardown and rebuild cover all your expenses? After talking to my LBS, the shortest it’s taken them to do a swap is 2.5 hours. I won’t give away their hourly labor rate, but if cables need to be cut/replaced, brakes bled, or if you need to source your own bottom bracket you are going to have to pay out of pocket for this.
