It’s been around 2 weeks since I got my bicycle and it started making a weird rattling noise even if I don’t use my pedals. I checked the chains but it’s not the source, then I checked if there are any moving parts but couldn’t find anythings.

Any ideas about the source of this noise? I’m thinking about going to a bike shop because it has a warranty but it’ll be better if it is something easily fixable.

Thank you in advance.

Check your disc brake. Hold the bike up and spin each wheel to see if you hear it. If so you may have to realign the caliper or true up the disc. Many times just a slight tweek on the disc will take care of it. You can use a small crescent wrench tightened over the disc and very slightly bending in whatever direction needed to do this. Easy to do yourself. Search YouTube for “bicycle disc brake adjustment.”
