For anyone with a front rack on their bike and who notices that cargo reduces their headlights visibility I have finally found a solution. Yes a dynamo headlight would be ideal, but the mount sheared off of my front rack and hub dynamo are prohibitively expensive.

I'm using a Lumintop B01, mounted upside down underneath my specialized pizza rack to great success. I needed a few layers of an old inner tube as a shim, but the mounting has been remarkably secure in my month's of use.

Pictured is the illumination of the under rack light alone, I combine with a handlebar mounted light and have ample light of the road. (Not pictured)

Hope this is of some value to someone, if you have questions or want additional photos I'll do my best to help.

That’s def a great spot to mount a light

I have an e bike with a light mounted to front rack similar to that and it makes a difference being further forward and closer to the ground

  2. I zip tied a section of conduit to my basket and then mounted the light to that. It stuck off the side so I could reach it to turn it on when I was riding

    A good solution.

However, I was never a fan of having the headlight wander around as you steer the bike. I wish there was some way or some standard mount to place the headlight on the front tube so that the beam will be pointing at where the bike is going.

That’s why I wear a headlamp. It wanders around too but it lights up what I am looking at.
