Picked this up for 100$. Can’t find the year on it. needs a rear shock and a brake bleed but in great condition otherwise. Anyone know if you need anything special to bleed the Magura Julie’s?
I believe the Julie’s are mineral oil, magura brand preferred. You should be able to gravity bleed them through by keeping the reservoir topped up and opening the bottom with pressure on the lever, or if you can find an adapter for the bottom, push fluid up from the bottom. Try to find a you tube on it and go from there. Hopefully you don’t need seals for it as those may be hard to find

Without a rear shock, this thing is not worth much, if anything. You could part out it piece by piece to recoup your money and maybe make $20-30, but that would be a stretch

I would put it to 98/99, maybe mid-season – rear swing arm and decals match. 98 would be a color match, but older swingarm design. And as it is it has not much to do with the original SV2000, everything replaced.
Whatever makes you think it’s in good condition – I don’t see it. Looks like it had to take quite some beating, replacement parts speak for themselves. Unfortunately there’s some cheap stuff, like cranks and derailleur.
It should tell you something that it was sold without rear shock. Working one will be hard to find and probably not a bargain (quite short they are).
I do like the wheels, though, Rhyno Lites and probably decent hubs. Check if the frame has any cracks or oxidation, if not, it’s at least usable. Fork is a pity and in pathetic condition, needs refurbishing – and as said, no real SV2000 anymore.
And there’s really nothing on this bike with notable resale value, so 100 is way too much imo. Without rear shock it’s more or less zero, because it’s not even rideable – except for people who happen to have matching shocks lying around waiting to be used…

Jesus dude if I owned this I would have paid you $100 to take it off my hands. Dump fees are getting close to that and you’d save me gas and time

Waste of a 100. Not worth 20 bucks
