  1. Like the title says, i recently got this new handlebar, but at a closer look i noticed this uncoated patch on the inside of one of the “horns”. Does this look like rust, or does it pose significant risk of corrosion? Should i be asking for a replacement, or would that be overreacting?

  2. I’m pretty sure those bars are steel instead of aluminum like many bars. So they should have a very long lifespan.
I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s just a little surface rust.

  3. get some frame protection, spray it in there, and then ride.

with this amount of damage though, id only give those bars 40-50 years of use before theyre unrideable.

most surface corrosion inhibits itself after sometime, there is nothing wrong with these, I have the same bars, even with the odd scratch on the outer face and some rust bursting though i have zero concerns.

  5. Reddit has taught me that everyone else looks wayyyyyyyyyyy more closely at their bikes than I do
