As the title says. I picked up this frame because I thought it might be a fun display piece or something to tinker with when the weather is not great. What I do know about the bike:
- It's a Schwinn MTB frame
- It has a replaceable derailleur hanger
- It's a 17 inch frame
- The head tube uses a press in headset
- It has two bottle cage mounts
What I'm pretty sure about:
-It's from the 90s
-It was made in 96, the second number from what I can make of the serial number is a 6 (someone did a custom green paint or powder coat which kind obscurs the serial number) which from what I've read this usually indicates the year. Though from what I've read, late 90s Schwinn serial numbers can be kind of a crapshoot because of the change in owners.
What I'm pretty sure it isn't:
- From the mountain trail, mountain sport, or Searcher line of bikes.
The original seller said that it was a Moab but the frame doesn't look like the other Moabs I have seen and the cable routing is different and closer to what was used on the S [9six].
Any guesses? Also I apologize if this isn't the best sub for this.
