  1. Whilst it does require going back over your route on the Isle of Mull, I’d recommend going out to Fionnphort. There’s a great campsite there and a good pub. You can also do boat trips to Staffa and Iona which are really worth seeing for the wildlife, geology, and scenery. Ulva is also a cool little island that’s mostly abandoned and pretty cool to walk around and check out. There’s a hostel there too and a great little café

  2. If you’re into medieval history you pass right by Dundadd Fort which has a carved footprint and some 13th century headstones nearby. Also a stone circle. Worth allotting extra time. Loads of castles along this route too.

    Just south of Fort William is Kinlochleven. There is one of the worlds only indoor ice climbing walls there. Further east is the trail head for Aonoch Eagoch which is a big day but one of the coolest ridge scrambles in the UK.
