Hey guys I was putting on a new tire tube on one of my wheels and I was doubling checking making sure everything was aligned with my wheels as i might of changed the alignment with the rotor calipers on my bike. And I noticed this level that’s attached to the bike brake system. What does this do?

It opens up the brake so you can get the wheel and tire off.
This lever relaxes the cable tension and opens the brakes a few more mm to make taking the wheel out easier.
Oh nice, looks like you got DA7800. That shits bullet proof.
In line with what others have said, this lever opens the caliper to allow the wheel to be removed.
The brake should be adjusted so that when closed it’s nearly too tight to remove the wheel with an inflated tire. When open you should be able to remove a wheel with an inflated tire. If this is not the case the brake should be reset for best performance. I recommend the park tool video on rim brake adjustment. Or throw your local shop business, it would be about $20-$40 depending on location/market/shop to get it dialed in. Happy trails.
