I got this bike I am trying to freshen up. Some new parts. Some not. My question is what bottom bracket is on this. And what would be a good replacement. I may just clean and repack. Also what would be a good crank set and cassette, I want to do a 1×8 drivetrain.

If you’re going to 1x, odds are you’ll need a new bottom bracket for your chosen crank anyways. Check out Microshift or Shimano Cues for some good 1×8,9 options.
It’s a normal BSA thread square taper bottom bracket. Spindle length for a new one will depend on what crank you choose.
Get a Shimano Essa crank, it’s the only 8-speed specific narrow wide crank I’m aware of and it comes in a reasonable 40t. Box does a NW chainring for 104bcd cranks but it’s only 32. Otherwise just get whatever, pull off some rings, and run it with a chain guide.
