If I was to cut my chain to this length, will it be too short? Picture one showing the position of the derailleur compared to picture two where the rear shock is emptied and compressed to the max.
It is on the shorter side but looks like the pulley isn’t fully stretched. Check with rear suspension compressed and maybe re add one link with a quick link.

You will hear people say it’s too short, however, the guidance for sram ( or for my GX anyway ) is for it to cover the biggest sprocket, and the chain ring. Then +2 links for the derailure so it looks fine
