A beautiful bicycle my wife acquired from a wonderful couple who were giving it away for free.
The gentleman was the original owner; it was custom built for him by Alpine Cycles of Rockville, Maryland (possibly by Fred Kelley himself).
Columbus SLX tubing, leather Avocet saddle, SunTour Superbe brake calipers, Shimano 105 shift levers, Deore XT derailleurs, 3TTT stem, a triple-chainring Sugino crankset, a Phil Wood bottom bracket and Phil Wood hubs laced to Mavic box-profile rims.
They were thrilled it was going to someone who appreciated the significance of the bike and continue to ride and cherish it!
