This bike was displayed in 2 museums.
It was donated in the 90’s to the MOMBAT museum in North Carolina, then sold to me when it closed.
I sold it a year later to someone who donated it to the MMBHOF in Marin, Ca.
I bought it back from that museum.
I built it into an all XT bike and the Radavist made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
He sold it to a bike shop in Wisconsin, and I got it from that shop in a trade. This is my daily rider.
I’ve built it into what you see here today.

Cool bike and interesting story, but the fact that it was _donated_ to two museums, and they turned around and sold it twice, seems weird. Or maybe that’s how it works and I’m just naïve.
It was said in your other post but you should check out r/xbiking. We love our vintage/rare MTBs over there and your posts will get more engagement than they would in the road-bike-dominant r/bikeporn.
Great bike for those snake belly tires. Very cool, I love stories of bikes finding their way back to people
