I had to pull some of the rear brake hose out from the inside of the frame in order to fit a longer stem on my Tarmac SL7. I managed to get the stem on, but now I can hear a hose rubbing inside the down tube of the frame when I turn the bars. Will this amount of rubbing inside hurt anything? The handlebars steer just fine both ways and don’t feel too tight or anything.

  1. This is fine. If you find yourself riding and your handlebars get that far off the side, you have a bigger problem than housing rubbing inside your frame. Did you put some housing sleeves? This can help attenuate the rattling sound. I would do that if they make noise because of road vibration.
