My wife has a Specialized Rockhopper 27.5 with an aluminum XS frame (blue bike). She is 5'1".
I’m considering upgrading her bike since we’ll be riding some light dirt trails in two weeks.
What kind of bike would be an upgrade for her? Should we consider a 29″ wheel size or keep the 27.5″? Would full suspension be worthwhile?

27.5 prob the best at that height. Or mullet
Larger wheels on a smaller frame do compromise the geometry somewhat. 27.5 is about as big as you would go on an XS bike, hence why a lot of manufacturers offer them with size specific wheels. Side note but it’s quite possible that XL or XXL frames would work better with 32″ wheels than 29″.
This bike looks perfect for “some light dirt trails” to be honest. Is it an air fork or coil? Are the wheels set up tubeless?
