Has anyone ever experimented with an alternative saddle bag like this one? The size and look is very similar to swift industries etc. And to me it looks like it could do the job just fine.

Difficult to tell the size from the pic but for $20 it’s got to be worth an experiment
$20 is a bit expensive in my opinion. People always have these camera bags laying around and nobody wants them. I have many times sold cameras and people didn’t want them for free, so I had to donate them to the thrift store
I think it’s a really cool idea but maybe equally much due to novelty/ethics as much as pricing. You are not that far off pricing from the knockoff options from rhinowalk or rockbros.
Consider also how you will mount it and do you need to reinforce it a little. If you are in UK or Europe then carradice bags have been around for a long time I’d go for a used one of those first but they are little harder to come by rest of the world.
