Not sure what model or make you have, but just Google that with ~~”crank bearing replacement”~~ “bottom bracket replacement”. Sorry, I’m not knowledgeable on nomenclature.

The crocks, heh. It’s a bottom bracket. I’d look through this page.
If you can wiggle the crank like that, it’s high time to replace the bottom bracket!

You replace it.

That’s the adjustable cup for the bottom bracket, there’s supposed to be a lockring over that, probably lost while doing that rattlecan paint job. But in any case, there’s a tool with a rectangular slot that fits on that, you turn that adjustable cup with it until the play is gone, and use another hooked tool to tighten the lockring. But since you don’t have the tools and are missing parts and probably the grease and bearings too, a shop is your best choice here.

Look up a video for “square taper bottom bracket”.
Looks like the lock-ring is missing, so the cup is loose. Easiest fix is to just tighten it after getting a lockring. Local bike shop probably has spares in a box out back somewhere.
Better is to get inside, check the bearings, and replace if needed. Regrease, then reassemble.

You’re missing the lock ring. You can get a new bottom bracket, or just get an old one on ebay and use the lock ring (make sure it’s “British” or “ISO”).
If it’s missing bearings you can get them cheap online in bulk, but you have to get the right size.
Looks
Like it was sprayed with paint some time after the lock ring was disappeared. If it was ridden long enuff after this the bearings are likely shot. Happy new BB day!

this is the first type of BB that i learned how to service.
if the cups and spindles aren’t pitted, just replace the bearings… but honestly, the bike can still work with some pitting.. it just depends on your level of acceptable performance.
a new BB with cartridge bearings are just $20-25 and way better than what you currently got…
