I ended up needing four strips in total to be able to ride home with air, as it was a pretty long slash! How long do you think this repair will last? Last picture is after cutting the excess off
Those plugs are meant to do exactly what you just did- get you home. Time for a new tire.

That doesn’t look like a dedicated commuter tire. Tubeless mountain bike tires are great against occasional punctures typically experienced on the trail like small thorns and small cuts from jagged rocks. A commuter needs to survive glass, sharp metal, nails, and more. Either switch to the thickest dual ply tire like a downhill tire from maxxis or switch to a proper commuter tire and run tubes with a tannus liner.
