Also is this a good price? I mountain bike A LOT, and I’d really like to get into gravel riding as well. This seems like a good place to start but I’m hoping for some feedback.
I think this is more of a traditional road bike, quite limited tyre clearance so not ideal for gravel. If you need a 52cm then there might be options you could consider new for this sort of money, if that gives you an idea on second hand pricing. Have a look at a Salsa Journeyer depending on local stock, or
Great frame, lots of room for future upgrades. I’m sure you could offer them $700 no problem. Good luck.

Nothing crazy but I great intro, especially if you aren’t riding anything chunky

I think it’s a good value. Compare to a new bike made out of 853 tubing with a carbon fork. Tiagra is just fine, I have sora on my journeyman. Gearing might not be best for something really steep and as others said you aren’t going to get the tire volume of a purpose built gravel frame.
