It only happens when I pedal with my feet. The noise does not happen when pedaling by hand. It sounds and physically feels like it's coming from the crankshaft, but I am not certain where. The physical feeling is like a very subtle click.
Replacing the chain did not fix the issue. Not sure what to try next. Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you tune the front derailleur? I think the chain is rubbing there.
Tighten the arms and bottom bracket.
Could be the seatpost. Does it sound different when you stand up?
this is the sound a huffy makes when you put any amount of torque on the pedals whatsoever. it is not made to be a reliable, serviceable bike
