I’ve bleed these brakes twice and can’t seem to get the lever to have some resistance. Just bought a BR-MT520 Caliper to replace the cheap radius caliper that was stock. After installation and bleeding, no resistance on the lever. Help a newbie out please.
Wondering if it’s the connector nut going into the caliper, but using an 8mm wrench is stripping it.

Walk us through your install process so we know if anything was missed. Like did you use the correct barb and olive for attaching the hose to the lever? Which bleed kit did you use, etc.
Bicycle orientation is key.
Do no bleed with the bike horizontal.
Aim the front of the bike straight up, remove the caliper from the frame and let it hang . have the hose as straight as possible.
Vertical. Vertical. Vertical.
Honestly, if you don’t know what you’re doing, bleeding brakes can be very finicky, especially without the right tools. Small details can make a big difference.
Might save a lot of hassle to have a shop do it.
But if you want to do it, I would first install a new barb and olive.
Also make sure there’s no leaks anywhere.
The fact that you’re not getting any resistance at all mean youre not even close. Even a poor bleed should have something. Maybe spongy, but still something.
Also make sure you pump the lever a few times when you’re done bleeding. There may not be initial resistance, but if you bled if correctly, it will build pressure after a few lever strokes.
