Small play at the front of my saddle. Post is solid, but if I hold the top clamp with my hand the wobble stops – so it's definitely the clamp. Don't have a torque wrench so going by feel. Any tips on getting it properly aligned and tight without overdoing it?

Is it possible the top plate is misaligned in some way?
Otherwise, you have to tighten each bolt a little bit at a time, alternating between them.
Just a check but is this a dropper post? If so, have you held the post at the base by the seat post clamp and confirmed its not the post? Had a buddy running in circles due to thinking the movement was up top when it was the alignment pin inside the dropper.
Looks like the rear bolt is bottomed out? Let it out and tighten the front one more, then tighten the rear again?
Is the plate correctly oriented?
Is the front bolt supposed to go up? Sometimes, it goes down, finger tight, then the rear bolt locks in the angle.
