I’m trying to install SRAM Paceline centerlock rotors onto a set of ENVE wheels laced to DT Swiss 240 hubs. My issue is that despite using the Parktool FR-5.2G lockring tool, the lockring disengages with the splines of the FR-5.2G before I can torque to 40nm. This is because the hub tapers in a way that stops the tool from staying engaged via the splines. In these pictures you can see where the black finish rubbed away due to the tool hitting the taper of the hub.
The only thing I can think to do is get rotor shims to move the entire rotor and lockring away from the taper. I know there’s the FR-5.2GT tool, but I don’t see how this would help due to the taper issue. Another problem with this solution is that this is a second wheelset also on DT Swiss 240/350 hubs. These wheelsets are meant to be hot-swappable, so I need the rotor spacing consistent. Unless the 350 hubs have the same problem requiring the same number of shims, I could be sunk without some novel tool that stays engaged with the lockring all the way to 40nm.
Thoughts?

You need an external spline lockring. There are may like it but here’s a plug for [wolftooths](https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/centerlock-rotor-lockring)
