  1. It’s not great, the quality of parts and assembly are going to be questionable at best. I doubt a small child would care, keep the tires inflated and the bike should be good enough

  2. Had a 12” Royal baby bike for my (then 3 yo) daughter. I bought it used for $40. It was good for what it was. Pedals used cartridge bearings and that made it easy to make it a balance bike until she was ready for pedals.

It’s heavy but not a bad bike.

  3. That basket will screw with your aero on group rides, gonna be asked to lead the whole time. Gear ratio looks good though.

Seems like a bit of a gamble. I see this bike listed on Target’s website, and the reviews say they received the bike as part of a promotion.

I am personally skeptical of bicycles coming from any big box store because the people assembling them are not bike mechanics and sometimes the bikes themselves are not made to last. It’s hard to tell all of that from a listing. This is why people recommend getting secondhand kid’s bicycles instead of new cheap ones. If you buy a used bike from a bike shop they may offer you a deal on tune-ups. Most children’s bikes are low quality and designed to be discarded instead of maintained.

That said, Target’s website it says this bike weighs 27lbs. I don’t know if that’s a misprint, but that’s how much a good quality adult bicycle weighs, and they often weigh less than that. I would not personally recommend this bike unless you can try it in person first and like it.
