Stripped this 1991 Specialized Hard Rock, Anglais-style frame, in magenta, down to a bare frame and fork.
Gave it a proper wash, then compound, polish, and wax. Two full days on the floor, working tube by tube, chasing that deeper gloss.
The photos don’t do the shine justice. In person, the magenta has way more depth.
Taking this one slow and steady.

How are you handling the chips in the paint? I have a similar project coming up.
Looks great. Love the cleaning process – very meditative.
What tools and procedures are you using to get a good shine? I’m almost done stripping my Trek 400 and I want that metallic blue paint to really pop!
