I was wondering what the precise difference in shape between 820 and 810 lever was but was unable to find any direct comparison so I'm posting this for anyone who might want to learn the same thing.
Basically my 1×12 GRX 820 bike came with a dropper post but due to some shortage it came with the dropper connected to a separate lever. I was trying to get an integrated ST-LA lever but the cost for 820 version was pretty prohibitive for such a small upgrade. So I noticed that the 810 left lever is mechanically the same. Supposedly the shape was slightly different to better accommodate for flared dropbars, but in all the pictures it looked identical aside from a differently coloured name plate. As I was able to get a new one for 1/2 price, I decided to try it out.
As you can see the end of the body is a few mm shorter in 820, otherwise they still look the same. It remains to be seen if I will feel any difference after they're installed.
Did anyone else try something like that? Was the difference noticeable?
