so I replaced the axle and did not mind the order of the lock nuts and washers. now I have to measure the length of the washers and locknuts in order to have a better chain line. in the first picture the sprockets were too away from the frame and I did some changes to the locknuts and washers and got the sprocket closer to the frame. do you guys think I should further try to close the distance with the locknuts and washers again or is this enough to have a good chain line?

  1. Second picture looks pretty good. Maybe still a little far out. How many threads are sticking out of the other side?

It should be easy to work out the order as they need to be equally spaced from the end of the axle. It’s normally the same washers and nuts on each side + one extra one on the drive side

  2. If your wheel is QR, you should worry about qr skewer engaging properly against the frame and not clamping against the axle. You should have even amount of threads on both sides of the axle after locknuts and it must not be longer than dropout thickness, 1mm less or slightly more, preferably.

Changes in chainline are not that big on your pics, it’s not a ss to matter that much.
