With a heavy heart I am writing this, but the rear triangle on my Beachcomber frame was bent in shipping. This is my first frame up build and I didn’t realize this until the final step of my build….. installing the back wheel.

I live in Houston, would anyone know of someone who could bend it back to spec? Maybe in Houston or Austin?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Before putting Stridsland on blast have you considered contacting him and asking him his thoughts?

he seems like a reasonable guy, reach out for a potential replacement? if not, a LBS that knows what they’re doing can frame-alignment-gauge your shit back to life

Never seen a beachcomber with that raw finish: looks awesome!

I’ve got no specific alignment resource suggestions (I’m in the Seattle area) but typically any local frame builders (or, more advanced LBS) should have good success getting this back into shape: cold setting steel is very do-able! Having an alignment jig is really helpful to get this right.

[West End Bicycles]() is by far my favorite in Houston for several decades. A million years ago they respaced a frame for me, bet they can handle this easily.
