  1. Serious Jelly! Left Deutschland 1991, Wertheim area so I know how beautiful it is. Wasn’t into biking back then so thanks for the memories….

  2. South of Germany is Austria or Switzerland. Far south of Germany would be Italy.

    Where was your ride?

  3. Schtuttgart itself and its car centric surroundings (looking at you, BB and RT) is not a good place for roadies since traffic sucks and infrastructure is still lacking behind in many places so gravel is the logical consequence to ride in peace.

With real mountainbiking being basically illegal as you’re not allowed to ride trails narrower than 2m (and authorities sometimes enforce that with a fine), gravel is all that‘s left lol

For mixed riding without much elevation, the classic schönbuch crossing is still one of my favourites. My usual Black Forest is much more demanding with rougher terrain and longer climbs whereas Gäu is all about rolling hills. Sometimes, I might even make it to the Swabian jura. Although you’ll find me at solitude and the lakes, Stuttgart is something I avoid like the plague by bike if I don’t need to be there
