I used this mirror on my previous, cheaper bike and liked it a lot. Now I’m trying to install it on my new bike, but the end of the handlebar is covered by the rubber grip, there isn’t a removable end cap. Under the grip it feels solid. Should I cut a small section off the end of the grip so I can mount the mirror?

It’s either that or replace the grip with one which has a cap. Of course I guess you could try palm slapping the mirror *through* the end of you’d rather not cut it.
Yes, use a razor blade. Try to keep it straight. And 1mm longer. Then it’ll blend in when you push on the mirror
Yup.
You might also want to change grips at some point. These don’t seem to be very ergonomic.
Whack the end of the grip with a mallet and the bar will cut a plug out of the rubber
A bike shop trick (do not attempt with carbon bars, or super thin alloy), use a rubber mallet to smack the end a few times so the bar cuts a nice round circle out of the grip. The result is a clean hole. You can cut the yellow line too, I’d remove the grip first.
Edit: check to make sure there isn’t a bar plug under the grip before smackin’.
I personally like using a drill; gives it a tight, clean fit.
Do it. A mirror will save your life.
Yes.
