  1. You’ll be able to access the other side of the hub easier. Remove the lock nut and the cone. Once you do that you should be able to pull the entire axle lock nut and cone assembly out as one piece from the freewheel side.

    You might want to do this over a big cake pan or a sheet or something so if any of the ball bearings drop out of the races you’ll catch them.

    Wow, is that a new wheel and tyring to remove the freehub? If you install the FR-4, if you have enough axle length, lock the tool in with axle nut. Freehubs can be a real bear to remove. I sit mine in a vise and use the rim for leverage.
