A very wet end to the trip! I woke up in Waltham Cross to persistent rain, but decided to push through and cycle into Central London. I navigated through Camden and past the BT Tower, eventually reaching Victoria. Given the poor weather forecast and a looming weather warning, I hopped on a train to Portsmouth to avoid the worst of it. From there, I cycled the final leg back home to Bognor Regis, finishing the day with 48 miles and a total of 227 miles for the entire trip.
Today’s Ride:
Distance: 48 Miles.
Route: Waltham Cross to Victoria via Camden, then Portsmouth to Bognor Regis.
Highlight: Seeing the BT Tower through the mist and making it home before the weather warning kicked in.

I’m Garry McGivern (Travelsonabike2), and I’ve been travelling the world by bike since 2008. Solo self-supported bicycle touring on my trusty bike, Passepartout. My vlogs are unscripted, down-to-earth and honest—sharing the highs, the lows, and everything in between of a long-distance cyclist. I’ve now cycled more than 60,000 miles around the world 🌏 and I’m still going.
My video 📹 blogs complement my written blogs, which I publish daily on my website, https://www.garrymcgivern.com/, each time I head off on a bicycle tour. Bear in mind when watching. The video 📹 is unscripted and recorded as I cycle along 🚲, and might not be of the highest quality. The footage is then cobbled together when I get home. It’s certainly no Hollywood 🎬 production. But it might just make you smile and inspire you to get on your bike and head off on your own bicycle tour.

As many of you know, I live with Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM). This trip has been a reminder of the “DCM faff” I have to deal with daily. My health struggles continue even off the bike; I have hospital appointments scheduled for both my lower back and potential carpal tunnel issues. These physical challenges, combined with the nerve pain and mobility issues caused by DCM, make every mile a hard-won achievement. Managing symptoms while on tour is a constant balancing act, but getting home safely is always the priority.

That's a well travelled hat! Hope the appointments went alright. All the best.
Love your videos Garry. Nice to see central London again. Haven't visited let alone ridden around it for many years.
From Trafalgar Square you could have gone under the Admiralty Arch, down The Mall to Buckingham Palace then down to Victoria station?
You are making me feel guilty as I have not done much riding recently. Your enthusiasm is making me want to ride somewhere now, but we have several days of storms forecast. However I am flying Ryanair from Stansted to Malaga start of November for 2 and a bit weeks of cycling in a Andalusia so hoping the weather will be mild and dry, still summer like even. I managed to get a really cheap ticket £14.99 each way but once you've added luggage and taxes it has still cost £140.00. Still I am taking my Brompton this time so no need for bike boxes and all that parlarva. So looking forward to it.
Good luck with your doc appointments.

Hi Gary. Brilliant videos. What bike do you ride?
