Today’s reality for us hangs in the balance of what could have been. If the winds had shifted or the snow had fallen differently on this fateful day, we might not be where we are now.
Back in ‘96, our co-founder Todd Jones went for a heavy ride in an avalanche that he won’t soon forget 🤯 Thankfully, he got spit out the back end on top as the debris settled and ended up walking away unscathed with nothing missing but one of his ski poles. The crew kept the session alive after taking a breather and reassessing and ended up stacking a ton of clips that eventually made it into our first film, ‘The Continuum’.
A few months later, they even got a call from Oprah Winfrey, asking to feature the avalanche clip in one of her projects 😳

Mi sa che questo non farà più queste cose😊
Good way to make it downhill
Dummheit, sry war klar, dass es nicht hält
Genius!
Adrenalin junkie goes for one last final hit … a brain-detaching Darwin Award tumbler experience … a freezing shake up death ride and suffocating brain asphixiation ending. Blue for a week if he really survived … broken limbs, frostbite, amputations, … the full works!
Hope he enjoyed the 10 second 'rush' … before wondering if it was all worth it?? …. the suffering and stress he put on his whole extended family and friends … who thought he was 'intelligent' ….?? 🤔😖
Bye Bye 👋
So ski down a steep slope with no clue you could start an avalanche. Must have gone to college.

Autsch das tut richtig weh😅😢

The longer you ski the backcountry, the greater the chance that something like this will happen. For most people it's nothing but a harmless release that scares them because the slab was superficial and without enough mass to be life ending, but it will, and does happen. BC travelers should never let their guard down. I lost a good friend on a "moderate" rated day so even the statistcally safer conditions can cause a fatality… Keep assessing terrain as you go, never turn your brain off and decide that it was safe back there, so it's still safe ahead of you. Dig pits and do column tests, do quick hand digs as you go to see if things are changing. Be conscious of changes in aspect, elevation and exposure. Look for flagging in the trees and other signs of wind scouring… be safe, think about structure…
Dumbass
この程度の技術でよくこの斜面にチャレンジする気になったもんだ。
Что это за вспышка в конце видео?
great idea.. Did the life insurance pay?

I'm ok
RIP for being a moron 😊
Get digging!
Everyone talking BS about predictability of the avalanche but avalanche understanding wasn't common 30+ years ago, and the depth of knowledge was shallow
