Tiny metal cover on V brake got loose, how do I reattach it?

Hey!

So I cleaned up these old Deore XT V-brakes with these nice parallelogram-style brake pads.

During cleaning and installing I noticed that these tiny discs, that cover a mechanism on the V brake got loose, some fell out.

The discs aren’t threaded.

So, maybe a stupid question, but how do I go about reattaching these?

Do I grease them up and hope the grease holds them in place?

I was hesitant about using glue, as I didn’t want to glue any moving parts on the brake.
