Yes this is a grandpa sweater but a guy only needs so many crewnecks, and I plan on owning this one until I actually am a grandpa.

Wool sweaters are amazing. Wool is naturally odor resistant, durable, warm, and more sustainable to produce than many other materials on the market today. The downside is that they can also be pricey, which is why buying from a company that’s closer to the source is a great way to find a more alternative option. Check out the brands/websites listed below to find the perfect wool sweater to live out your fisherman or eclectic grandpa fantasies.

  1. There is some truth to what you're saying, but you can't discount Chinese quality. China imports most of the Merino wool that comes out of new Zealand and Australia. They then process those yarns in state of the art facilities with sophisticated machinery. I can assure you that the Irish are buying Chinese Merino yarn and knitting it themselves. The reality is that if you can't stand the feeling of the fleece of heritage breeds, you're better off getting a Merino sweater. I personally prefer the itchier wool since it's far more durable. However, I will agree that if you can go to Ireland to order from them online, it's best to get Irish made since their knits are so much more full.

  2. Aran Crafts is an excellent company, I have a scarf of their and it is 10x better than buying something from China. Not all wool is from Ireland so look into it if that is important to you. Wools like Alpaca are from Peru but the construction will still be done in Ireland. If any of your wool hats/scarfs/sweaters say made in China, donate it to the homeless and buy Irish. Side note, I also support a Canadian maker here that uses 100% British wool.

  3. Thank you Father God
    Thank you Jesus Christ
    Thank you Holy Spirit

Everyone have a super blessed week

In Jesus mighty blessed name Amen 🙏🏽

  4. An incredibly small percentage of wool jumpers you can buy in Ireland are made in Ireland. Almost none are made with Irish wool. Merino sheep aren't kept in Ireland. What you bought was generic jumpers from yarn from China or Australia, made in China, sold in Ireland.
Source: lived in Ireland for years, love wool and knitting.
Sorry to break your bubble, this comment is really for other people because you already bought yours

  5. Having bought a couple wool pieces from some random, janky looking website of some Irish company making small-scale, handcrafted items, I agree 100%. They're legit. Read reviews from third parties or reddit or google or wherever and make sure the site you're looking at is legit, but these companies make such good stuff for very fair prices it's kinda crazy in today's market.

  6. Hi I’m thinking about buying the same cardigan as shown in the video. I’m 6’2 but have more length in my legs so my torso is smaller. Would you recommend a medium? Or should I go with a large like I do with most of my clothing?

  7. Not known for their stature? The Irish are 25th tallest in the world (taller than 87% of countries), the US is 47th. Do you actually think leprechauns are real because maybe that’s why you’re making that assumption? 🤦‍♀️

  8. Average height of an Irish male is 5’10.5”, a full inch taller than the average American male. Some studies say inch and a half taller. (Just to head off the racists: white American males are equal to the average: 5’9”. So no, it’s not the immigrants bringing us down. It’s never the immigrants bringing us down, Cletus.) Irish height has been on steady increase for over a century. American height was too, until, like Life Expectancy, it took a nose dive in the 21st century. The embodiment of decline in every sense, we live and die in a Hobbesian America — like our lives, we’ve become nasty, brutish, and short.

  9. I bought a nice fisherman sweater from Aran Crafts and I loved it so much I immediately bought another in a different color! Wonderfully made and it’s nice to know it’s made by a small company using local wool. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
