Could be headset. Could be brakes. Could be something else, but that’s where I’d start.

Check lock ring tightness on brake rotor. Also, cable actuated brakes aren’t the strongest. Sounds like brake pads squeaking kinda.

Most likely disc or pads. Then I would check the spokes. But if it gets better when you squeeze the brakes hard, it’s pads. They have some play in the caliper that goes away when you press them really hard.

Maybe the pads are moving in the calliper, low spoke tension or the rotor needs to be tighter. Hope u get it sorted. Good luck! 🙂

If it’s the brakes you should be able to see them moving (either the rotor in the pads, or maybe the caliper). If it’s the headset you should be able to get the same noise with the wheel up against a wall and the brakes off. If it’s the spokes you should be able to get the same noise by squeezing spokes (tho if they’re all fairly equally tensioned and don’t feel loose then probably be ok).
