So basically I’m upgrading from a Norco shore park to a Scott gambler 920. But, I’m pretty sure the rear shock is better on the Norco (both 2023, although the Norco is a former rental). Attached are parts of the spec sheet from VitalMTB. I was wondering if before selling the Norco, I should swap the rear suspension? Same stroke and length are the same. I also have a brand new 375 coil. Also I have no idea experience removing/installing suspension so is it a bad idea?

The Norco has the nicer shock. RockShox’s naming is a bit convoluted, but Ultimate > Select
Even if they share the same eye-to-eye and stroke, they will likely have different internal shock tunes. This allows manufacturers to fine tune the shock to work best with their specific frame kinematics. How much this varies between these two bikes I’m not sure, but you can input the serial numbers to RockShox trailhead to compare.

Also, shock hardware may be different between the two but that is usually fairly easy to swap out.
