Hi all, I’m new to biking but know that I would like a hybrid bike as I’ll be riding mostly on paved and dirt bike paths and gravel roads. This Soma was posted a while ago in my city for $500 and while it’s in my price range, I’m wondering if ya’ll have any thoughts on its value, I’ve found it hard to find a lot of info on older Somas. You can try and negotiate if you’d like but that seems reasonable and you have a lot of good components right away and this build will serve your needs and then some.
Not that old of a bike. The double cross is still made. Nice components, good deal IMO. Go check it out! it’s not a “deal”. got new parts on it though. if we assume a full teardown and rebuild was done then it’s a good price.
The price is about right and you would be getting a great bike. I’ve owned my Double Cross for 15 years and it is so versatile. The same frame can be set up as an excellent flat bar commuter, cyclocross racing bike, light touring rig, or fast all road bike.
