Thank you soooooo much!!! This worked to perfection. As long as one is careful you and proceeds with caution you can use a metal object to push back the pistons. My brake rotors were rubbing all of a sudden but watching this short video fixed that. Thank you once again!!!
i have mechanical brake system of schwinn axum mtb. the large bolt behind caliper that is used to adjust brake is seized. tried wd40 and everything else. This video if for hydraulic mtb brakes right? Maybe same concept will work except for the piston push back steps.
You do realize this causes damage to the seals and voids your warranty correct? Literally says it right in the install and maintenance manual. The correct way to fix this is actually a caliper cleaning and piston massage.
If your a technician, you would have a pad spreader that is specifically designed to (spread the pads) saving you all this effort and your using clear oils which have damaging plastics in them use oil brake depending on what the oil base in the brake your using, I've seen soo many of these video please, please get the info right before making videos…

won't they be half-extended again after using the lever?
Where do i get that pin from? I lost mine

What if the piston keeps moving and wont stay in place?
You FAILED to clean the faces of the pistons FIRST. Clean then lubricate.
Rim for the win😢
No not use oil!
lols don't try this or else face the consequences
Looks like he dont have no clue of what he is doing so many mistakes 😂
Did I miss the part where you say what that liquid is that you squirt on piston?
Use simple green to clean the pistons.
