I just got a Giant Stance 2. It’s my first full-suspension bike. I talked to a few friends, and they said the specs are solid and great for the price. So far, I’m really enjoying it.

I wanted to see what you guys think the first upgrades should be. I like how it rides as-is, but I want to keep in mind what’s worth upgrading down the road and how much I should budget for it.

  1. Is the bike failing to accomplish something you need it to or are you just trying to spend money for the sake of spending money?

Remove the dork disc and give it a go, as is! That’s a great bike. Off the bat the only thing I would consider changing is going tubeless.

  3. I had that bike and eventually upgraded to a Trance. Ride it, enjoy it, and trade up when you want better components. It isn’t a high level frame to where it would be worth it financially. Sure, add better grips and cheap stuff but I’d resist the urge to upgrade components just for the sake of it.

put whatever you have in a coffee can, next month put like 50 bucks in and every month after that. then when it NEEDs a fix, you have budget to upgrade.

my guess would be that the fork lets you down first, but you’ll need maintenance items like tires, brake pads or a cassette first.
